Jin Shin Jyutsu®
The gentlest work often goes the deepest.

Art of the Creator through Man of Compassion

All disharmony begins with the inability to either inhale or exhale fully. Jin Shin Jyutsu harmonizes the breath, which is essential to life. Because it requires no physical tissue manipulation, it's considered safe for everyone, including people with serious health conditions, those recovering from injury or illness, and anyone who finds more intensive bodywork to be too much.
It's a gentle art. And gentle doesn't mean it won't surprise you.
Some areas where JSJ can help:
Learn to work with your own energy
These 45-minute remote sessions are for people who want to take an active role in their own care. We meet over video and practice JSJ sequences tailored to your energy and current needs. I guide you through each sequence so you leave with the confidence to continue on your own.
You'll receive a session recording and brief notes summarizing the self-help suggestions so you can revisit your personalized flow anytime.
Whether you're brand new to Jin Shin Jyutsu or looking to deepen a practice you've already started, this is a good place to begin.
Best for you if:
✔ You want practical tools you can use between sessions
✔ You learn best by doing, with guidance
✔ You want to build confidence and independence in your self-care
Receive the full benefits of JSJ from wherever you are
You don't have to be in the same room for this work to reach you.
We start with an initial check-in to talk through what you've been experiencing and what you'd like to focus on. That conversation helps me determine which flows will be most beneficial for your session. Then you settle into a comfortable, quiet space, either lying down or seated, while I work with a proxy doll that mirrors your energy field, applying hand placements to the energy points as if working directly with you.
This is energetic attunement, not visualization. Clients often describe sensations of warmth, tingling, or deep calm. Some feel emotional shifts. Some laugh. Some cry. Some fall asleep entirely, which is perfectly fine.
Afterward we reconnect briefly to talk through what shifted, and I'll offer simple self-help recommendations for integration. A written report with session notes and self-care suggestions is delivered to your client portal afterward.
Best for you if:
✔ You want to receive support without having to do anything
✔ You're feeling depleted, overwhelmed, or in need of deep rest
✔ Self-practice alone isn't quite enough right now

Frequently Asked Questions
Jin Shin Jyutsu is a gentle energy art that helps restore balance in the body, mind, and spirit. It works with your body's natural capacity to release tension, harmonize energy flow, and support overall wellbeing. No pressure, no tissue manipulation, no special equipment. Just intentional touch and placement.
Anyone. JSJ is safe for all ages and conditions, including people who find more intensive bodywork to be too much. Guided Self-Help sessions teach you hands-on practices you can use anytime. Remote sessions allow you to receive the work while lying down and simply relaxing.
If you want practical tools you can use on your own between sessions, Guided Self-Help is the place to start. You'll learn personalized sequences and leave with something you can actually do. If you're feeling depleted or overwhelmed and just want to receive support without any effort, the Remote Session is what you're looking for. Some clients use both depending on where they are. If you're not sure, reach out and we'll figure it out.
Not at all. Every session includes guidance so you can follow along confidently regardless of where you're starting from.
A quiet, comfortable space where you can sit or lie down, and a device with video and audio. A blanket or pillow can help you settle in. You may want to have a glass of water available for during or after the session. No special preparation required.
Guided Self-Help (45 min): We meet over video and practice personalized JSJ sequences together with live instruction and feedback. You receive a recording and brief notes afterward.
Remote Session (75 min): We start with a short check-in, then you relax while I work with your energy via a proxy doll for approximately 60 minutes. We close with a brief conversation about what shifted and simple self-help recommendations for integration. A written report is delivered to your client portal afterward.
A proxy doll is a cloth figure that serves as an energetic stand-in for your body. Each of the 26 Personal Energy Centers are color coded and sewn onto the doll, corresponding to the same points I would work with if we were in the same room. It's a sacred, intentional tool, not a shortcut. The work is just as real.
Every person's experience is different. Some feel warmth, tingling, or a deep sense of calm. Some notice emotional shifts. Some see colors shifting behind their eyelids. Some laugh. Some cry. Some fall asleep. You may not feel anything during the session, but your body is still receiving what it needs.
Jin: with a hard "g" sound like "gin"
Shin: just like the lower leg
Jyutsu: "J" + "you" + "T" + "sue"
When Master Jiro Murai first rediscovered this art, he referred to these energetic spheres as Eki Ten, meaning "Divine Fluid Being." Mary Burmeister introduced the term Safety Energy Locks (SELs) when she brought JSJ to the western world. More recently, the Jin Shin Guild proposed Personal Energy Centers to reflect the connection between our own personal energy and source energy. Eki Ten, Safety Energy Locks, or Personal Energy Centers all refer to the same locations in the body, just from a slightly different viewpoint.
That varies by person and by where you are in your own healing journey. For more serious or chronic projects, more frequent sessions in the beginning tend to build momentum faster. JSJ is a cumulative art so the more consistent you are, both in sessions and in self-help practice, the deeper the results tend to go. Guidance on timing is something we can talk through after your first session.
Yes. Guided Self-Help sessions include a recording and brief notes for at-home practice. Remote Sessions include a written report with session notes and self-care guidance delivered to your client portal.
JSJ is gentle and non-invasive, which makes it well suited for sensitive situations. That said, it's always a good idea to check with your healthcare provider if you're pregnant or managing a medical condition.
In Jin Shin Jyutsu, we don't use the word "problem." We say project or challenge instead. A project is something you can take steps to work through, a journey toward wellness rather than a label to carry. We also avoid diagnostic labels because a diagnosis is just a name for a group of symptoms. And symptoms are messengers, alerting you to a deeper underlying cause. While it's important to provide relief from those symptoms, the bigger goal is to address the underlying root cause to provide more lasting harmony.
As with any project, results take time. Some people notice significant shifts after just one or two sessions. But JSJ is a cumulative art. The more consistently you show up, both in sessions and in your own self-help practice, the better your results will be.
"The best way to understand why a disharmony recurs after consistent treatment is to go to the attitudes. The attitudes are at the bottom of everything." — Mary Burmeister
